I learned how to use a camera while hanging out of a helicopter in the US Navy. I learned the technical aspects of taking good pictures at the Pearl Harbor, Hawaii Photo Intelligence School. A few years later I graduated from Colorado Mountain College in Leadville, Colorado and then from Brooks Institute School of Photographic Art and Science in Santa Barbara, California. I became General Manager of Pro Photo Images in Santa Barbara. We had two 1500 sq ft studios, one 500 sq ft studio and a custom photo lab on the premises. After returning to Colorado I found work at KCNC-4 Denver as part of a ENG or satellite truck news team and then with KREX-5 Grand Junction as a television commercial production manager. Then the print industry came calling and off to Minnesota I went, where I was corporate photographer and eventually a pre-press supervisor for the Taylor Corporation.  With on the job experience in print, photography and video I decided to launch Middleton Photography and Gold Strike Communications, a high tech video marketing company. We are based in Salida, Colorado.
